Robert Bosisio
Born in Trodena, Italy, in 1963
Graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 1988, taught by a representative of Viennese Actionism professor Adolf Frohner(1934 - 2007).
He currently lives and works in Trodden, Italy and Berlin, Germany. His paintings are between abstract and figurative, not concrete individual objects, but descriptions of the anonymous illusion. His portrait paintings are mysterious and out of focus. They have a calm perspective and blurry contour. The Interior series he created present high saturated colors and spatial structure made by extremely simple geometric forms. The unreachable horizon stimulates viewers’ wishes to pursue the other side of the world and shows a sense of silence and invisibility that transcends the actual time and real existence.
Robert Bosisio’s paintings have been exhibited in many critical international exhibitions, such as the 54th International Art Biennale Exhibition Venice, BP Portrait Award, 2020. His paintings are also collected by art institutions and personal collectors, such as the Hugo Voeten Foundation and one of the most famous Oscar award film directors, Wim Wenders.
“It is important to me that my paintings remain simple, calm, and factual“. Robert Bosisio seriously defends the legitimacy of paintings and explores the boundaries of the painting with an independent and earnest perspective.
